About Sotto

Sotto is an anonymous Secret Santa platform where the organizer architecturally cannot see assignments. The brand name is Sotto; the product is hosted at sottogames.com. We call ourselves Sotto Games because Secret Santa is just the first game we've shipped — a roadmap of anonymous group games is in active development.

Why Sotto exists

Every Secret Santa app available today — Elfster, MySanta, DrawNames — lets the organizer view every assignment. Their “anonymous” gift exchange isn't actually anonymous. We built Sotto Games to fix that with architecture, not with policy.

How privacy is enforced

Draws run server-side using Sattolo's algorithm with cryptographic randomness.
Participant identity is anchored to a 4-digit PIN, hashed with bcrypt.
Assignments are view-once. The recipient name burns away after 10 seconds and cannot be opened again.
The organizer dashboard exposes participation but never the assigner-to-recipient mapping. There is no admin query that returns it.

Who builds Sotto

Sotto is built independently by a small team and shipped through an open development log. The product is free with no premium tier, no advertising, and no data brokerage.

What's next

Sotto Games is a platform for anonymous group games. The roadmap covers Secret Cupid for Valentine's, Secret Diwali for the festival of lights, and Secret Feedback for anonymous team reviews. Each runs on the same privacy-first engine.
